Welcome to the "Find Your Voice: Youth Art Competition," an exciting opportunity for young artists aged 13 and over to express themselves through art! This competition encourages participants to create artwork that reflects one of the following categories: passion, action, voice, skills, or wellbeing. The winning pieces will be showcased as prominent 'tiles' on the upcoming "Find Your Voice" youth network website, providing a platform for young talents to be seen and heard.
Competition Categories:

Young People in Southend: Create art that depicts what positivity Southend has to offer young people.

Passion: Create art that portrays your innermost passions and what drives you.

Action: Depict moments of empowerment, change, and positive impact through your artwork.

Voice: Explore the theme of self-expression, advocacy, and the power of your voice.

Skills: Showcase your artistic skills and techniques in any medium of your choice.

Wellbeing: Express the importance of mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing through your art.
Guidelines:
Eligibility: Open to young artists aged 13 to 25 years
Medium: Any artistic medium is accepted, including but not limited to painting, drawing, digital art, photography, sculpture, and mixed media.
Submission: Submit high-resolution images of your artwork along with a short description (maximum 150 words) explaining how your piece represents the chosen category.
Originality: All artworks must be original and created specifically for this competition.
Deadline: The deadline for submissions is the 15th November.
Submission Format: Submit your artwork and description to fyv@southend.org.uk with the subject line "Find Your Voice Art Competition Submission."
Prizes:
1st Place: The winning artwork will be featured as a prominent 'tile' on the new "Find Your Voice" youth network website, a certificate of achievement, a £50 Amazon voucher and showcase across our Charity channels
2nd Place: A £20 Amazon voucher and a certificate of achievement.
3rd Place: A £10 Amazon voucher and a certificate of achievement
Honorable Mentions: Certificates of achievement.
Announcement of Winners:
Winners will be announced on 17th November at a FYV virtual launch event. All participants will also receive an email notification regarding the results. All art submissions will be showcased on the new FYV website from December onwards.
Judging Criteria:

Creativity and Originality: How uniquely the artwork interprets the chosen category.

Technical Skill: The level of artistic skill and expertise demonstrated in the artwork.

Emotional Impact: The emotional resonance and impact of the artwork on the viewer.

Relevance: How well the artwork aligns with the chosen category and communicates the intended message.
